The famous Wild Atlantic Way (WAW) is the world’s longest defined coastal touring route. It starts in Kinsale, south of Cork, and runs all along the western seaboard, tracing the Atlantic coastline as far as Malin Head, the most northerly point of Ireland.
The Wild Atlantic Way passes just 4km from Ballycommane House, which is an ideal touring base for exploring Ireland’s southwest. Below are some beautiful places easily reached from Ballycommane.
Dunmanus Bay at Ahakista, Sheep’s Head peninsula
Coastline near Allihies, Beara peninsula
Some fine sandy beaches near Crookhaven, Mizen Head peninsula
